False 5 Star: Insufferable Gameplay

Note: This is from only making it 80 levels in and i never ever complain about games on the apps store, like EVER, so this goes to show how annoying it is but anyway Yes, they claim you win more if you play the levels better — but that only happens maybe once in every 50 levels. Bonus levels are supposed to help, but even those are rigged. They force you to play on the multiplier you used in the previous round (which is almost always 1x because, again, you’re broke). And to top it all off, the game forces you to use a free item every time they introduce a new mechanic — which might sound helpful, but it’s really just a way to get you dependent on using paid items later. The most frustrating part? Some levels are literally unwinnable. The RNG is clearly programmed to trap you. You get a board with 8 stacks of 4 cards, but you can’t see any of the cards until you play them — meaning you have to guess the right order. And with such tight margins for error (you’re allowed maybe one or two mistakes), the odds are stacked against you. The game demands a specific order in a setup that can have 1.5 billion possible combinations. It’s not skill-based — it’s pure trial and error and mostly luck. Finally, the kicker: the game only gives you extra “free” rewards after you purchase something. It’s shameless. They’re not even trying to hide the fact that the entire structure is meant to drain your wallet.

I am addicted to Solitaire Grand Harvest! There are lots of great graphics and fun crops. Love Sam, the dog, but Peggy needs to go- she’s so annoying! I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because the only way to really get ahead and have fun with this game is to play in the high modes and play with power ups, which can really eat up all your coins, especially when you first get started! Many of the games on here are impossible to win so it isn’t about skill at all. It’s about how many coins you spend on a game. I was very frustrated when I first started playing because the winnings were much lower than the investment. (Not real money mind you- just the coins that you earn and spend within the game!-I have never spent one penny of real money on this game!) But once I started playing in the high mode, the return was much greater. I won a tournament because I was able to accumulate winnings at a faster pace. Winning the tournament gave me more coins which I invested in power ups. Also, if I lost too many coins playing the game, I would just stop playing for awhile, but continue to harvest until I built a coin base up again. Playing in high mode also lets you earn gems faster so I was able to finish my farm for an extra 2 million in coins. I now have over 5 million coins!

Not as good as it used to be

I’ve been playing this game for a few years now. I’m close to level 6000. It used to be a lot better. The cost of coins to play one game has always been so high. But now, they are even higher and it is definitely harder to win at a game which therefore depletes your money faster. Most times you don’t even win a fraction back as to what each game costs to play. The challenges are nearly impossible to beat. Before, when playing a game while using one of the special power ups…it usually guaranteed a win which was helpful. But not now. It’s a waste to even use them. And the wild card power up is the worst. We should be able to use the wild cards on the side when needed and not have them automatically thrown in randomly at the start of the game. They are always thrown into a spot when they are not needed and they become a waste. Also, the power ups are so hard to get in the first place. Also, for any of the challenges that come up, it takes SO much to collect the special cards or whatever the specific challenge might be. It’s frustrating because as much as I play and work towards the rewards…it ends up never happening. Nothing is easy to come by in this game anymore. And I refuse to spend actual money on anything just to be able to play and receive good rewards and such. Please make some changes to this game!! I really do love it but it’s becoming less exciting with not being able to play, win or collect rewards more frequently and easily.
